Grow This! [said with attitude]

Growth Spurts.
Who needs 'em?
-
Apparently,
babies.
-
ugh.

Growth spurts aren't exactly on my "friends" list.
In fact, we may just be at odds with each other,
for life.

Why?
Because they make you cranky.
Not to mention the baby,
who just desperately wants to grow faster then you can nurse.

Nursing every hour,
on the hour,
can get really old.

Luckily,
its only 1 day out of 7
that this happens to me.

This week,
the 2 month growth spurt coincided with shots.

Luckily,
my kid is cute.

Cute measures at:
12 lbs 1oz
24.5 inches long

2 months is bringing smiles,
coos,
and more and more personality!
We love you E!

4 years = 1,460 days!

My title kind of reminds me of "Seasons of Love" from the hit Rent. 525,600 minutes; how do you measure a year? How about love?

[in fact, its now on repeat on my computer!]

Its so true.

We've had nothing but love. We have had a lot of compromise, changing of opinions, and laughter. More laughter than anything else. Its been a lot of fun, and now that we've added a little game changer, we are excited to see what else we can find to laugh about.

Last night we laughed about this post of mine on facebook:

It was a hard day, but at the end of it all, we laughed together and that was all that mattered. Poor Ethan got milk all over his face in the process, but that never hurt anyone!

Its been a big comfort to have a best friend by my side through this journey. With Ethan here now, its been an even bigger comfort. Sure, listening to General Conference talks during feedings and reading the scriptures during naps brings comfort... Tyler just happens to be a balm of Gilead that I can hold on to. He doesn't judge me when things get hard, he doesn't scold me for not having the house spotless when he comes home, and he is quick to go into work an hour early, come home and do dishes, do the laundry, and take Ethan so I can run to the store for 30 minutes of out-of-the-house-exposure on the days when Ethan and I haven't gone for walks. All of this without complaint. I have a lot to learn from him :) He is thoughtful. He is kind. And that is better then all the riches of the world.

He makes me laugh. Oh my. We were laughing so hard last night while waking up and feeding/changing Ethan - what hubby gets up each time with his wife to change the diaper so she can use the restroom, get ready to nurse, etc? Wow.  I am blessed. Especially because my eyes are barely open and I would hate to be the one changing diapers at night :) haha even with the lights on! haha Just kidding, but really? I am counting my blessings. Both of them.

I am so thankful for the promise of forever families.

Thanks Friend ;)

A little while ago, I came across
on a friend's blog.

I feel like I've heard it before,
but not.

I'm hearing it loud and clear now.

My favorite line,
which coincidentally brought me to tears:

"Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole."

Week 3: July 8-14, 2012

Our nieces and nephew visited us this week :)

Jennine telling Ryan all about baby Ethan

Ryan loved it when Ethan would yawn!

 Peeking inside the blankets!

 Nana and baby Ethan

Aren't kid's shoes the cutest?

Week 2 : July 1-7, 2012

He is so darling. Let's begin the massive picture post.
This is for posterity, after all :)

I love when babies go almost cross-eyed!
It makes you laugh!

 Week 2.
Trying to lose that weight!
ps - this dress was $7 at Target.
And a blessing.
haha

 When babies cry.
No, scream.
Then, you wrap up the taking of pictures!
Must have been time to eat :)

Week 1-2: June 24-30, 2012

When we got home, we had a lovely collection of flowers!
Lovely garden roses from Rissy's garden (repetitive, I know!),
Tyler's work sent us flowers from Every Bloomin' Thing,
and a lovely potted plant from Wade and Jennine!

That weekend, my mom's family threw me a baby shower!
Ethan and Tyler hung out with Uncle Bentley and the boys,
while the girls hung out at grandma's!
--
Look closely at the monkey!
Its a diaper-monkey-motorcycle!
A departure from the diaper cake,
my Aunt Cynthia made a monkey motorcycle!
It is the coolest thing ever!
In fact, it took us 3 weeks to take it apart.
haha

On Sunday, the rest of my family arrived.
They drove cross country as soon as Girls' Camp ended for Melanie.
They got here and drove right up to see Ethan!
My brother Devin, who is 11, was beyond stoked to see Ethan.
In church, he could not stop correcting everyone:
"I'm Uncle Devin now!"
He was thrilled.

 He had a hard challenge,
trying to beat Nana with who wanted and who got to hold Ethan more.
It was really precious to me.

My dad hates being in pictures.
Especially as he sports his "cross-country mustache!"

 And here,
Rissy's head is Tyson's mustache!
haha

Here, Melanie is finally getting a turn to hold baby Ethan!
She was a trooper - she had BYU Volleyball camp,
EFY, Girls' Camp, and Youth Conference
all squeezed into this summer!
Preseason is just right around the corner!
I'm so happy they could make it out,
even with everything they had going on!

 'Uncle Devin' and 'Aunt Melanie'
Loving baby Ethan!

Poor Tyson.
The 2 pictures I've posted are the only times he's been able to hold Ethan.
Its tough, trying to beat out Nana and Rissy to hold him!

I'm so happy that so many people love him.
Its definitely life changing.
