A-Pick-Me-Up

Gives me chills every time.

Tyler bought me his 1st album for Valentines' Day when we were dating.

This week, I'll be spending time at Primary Children's Hospital in SLC.
My friend's 5mo. old little girl has just been diagnosed with leukemia.
On Friday, I'll help and hold her in my arms.

If you could spare a moment to pray for the LeBarca family, that would be tremendous.

I'm planning on making a "Care-Kit" for my friend,
so if you have any suggestions [candy, dvds, games, etc]
that would be fun for a hospital visit/extended stay,
please leave me a message.

Enjoy the video.
Then, make someone else's day by sharing a
pick-me-up with them.
Smiles and hugs are appropriate :)

Thank you.

So I've been following this family's blog whose little girl drowned this last summer. They spent a week at Primary childrens and now they're making care kits to send to the hospital. This is the list she put on her blog of things she thought were important to have there so that parents don't have to leave the hospital. Maybe it will give you some ideas...
1 Box of Granola Bars
2 Trail Mix (Personal Size)
2 Goldfish (Personal Size)
6 Fruit Leather (At Costco you can get a box with 48 individual leathers for under $10)
Breath mints/Gum
Small Eye Drops (Visine)
3 Pens & Journal
Fleece Blanket for the parents (47" x 57" OR 42" x 52"- Try and go for the bigger one :) )
2 Pairs of Socks (preferably with grips on the bottom)
2 Toothbrushes
Toothpaste
Chapstick
Small lotion (non-scented if possible)
Playing cards
Disposable Camera

This list was mostly focused on parents who have to get to the hospital without warning and didn't have time to pack a bag though, so a lot of it probably doesn't apply. Thats really nice that you're going to help and support your friend. How sad.

Hey I tried to find you on facebook and your blog showed up. I'm so glad I got to know you better today. It was fun. You are so good. I wish I could help our neighbors too but we already had a full weekend. I think everyone needs some Jane Austin. I have all her books and most of her movies. If you want to borrow any of them for the kit I'd be happy to lend them for the good cause. We also have a lot of games and puzzles that you'd be welcome to borrow as well. I'd love to help in anyway before Friday if you need or want anything, please let me know. You are soooo cute btw.
